Ok, here is the deal. I am selling all of my extemporaneous stuff. All of the things that I have been holding on to, and essentially do little more than hold me in one place. There are multiple reasons for this, I will explain a few.
I am graduating school relatively soon (hopefully end of summer). I am finishing my BS in Geology from the University of Minnesota in Duluth as an nontraditional student and that means that I have to either go and get a job, or I have to venture off to grad school. Either way, the less stuff that I have to take with me the better.
I am going off to field camp in the summer, six weeks in Utah. This means that I have to come up with a small bundle of money that is beyond what is normally covered under financial aid. This also involves me driving myself down to Utah, and having enough money to afford the inevitable breakdowns that go along with driving a Ford Ranger.
After field camp I am plotting to do that one epic road trip before I have to come back and be an adult. I have never taken one of those epic road trips, I have gone places but usually the purpose was to get from point A to point B as fast as possible. I am going out west with a rock hammer and a truck that is going to be built out for camping. I intend to do so for as long as money allows. I am going to take pictures, collect samples, and put the whole thing up on the blog when I get a within wifi range.
Needless to say I need to get rid of a lot of stuff so that I can do all of this, and that is exactly what I am looking to all of you for. You should all bid on my stuff, there are many, many things that I have no interest in carrying around with me for the next part of my life. I still have things that have just been sitting in a cabinet since I got divorced, 13 years ago. This all needs to go away!
I am trying to get as light weight as possible, so that when the time comes I can load my stuff up in the truck and be gone. I am not going to be abandoning the family or anything like that I just want it to be so that if I find a job in Australia I can easily go to Australia. If I find a job in Canada, I can go to Canada.
But first, I need to get rid of everything, so here it is, come and get it!
Here I am in a kayak trying desperately to survey water depth across Lester River in Duluth, Minnesota for a geomorphology project analyzing sediment transport.
