Really this is something that is only safe to do with items that you know will sell. Otherwise you run the risk of actually losing money when all is said and done, but if you have some items that multiple people are likely to bid on the 99 cent auction is a good way to get a lot of people interested in an auction.
I listed seven items this week, so far (one day on six of them, about 4 hours on the seventh) I am at 15 bids, one item has already gone from the original 99 cents to 78 dollars. With six days left to go I imagine there will be a pause in bidding from Tuesday through Friday, but starting Saturday morning things should take off.
This is, of course, a good thing for my mission to sell everything I don’t need anymore. I am making progress! I will eventually get to the point where I will be able to fit all the stuff I need in the back of my truck, and have all the stuff I don’t need fit in a garbage can. There will still be some remnant stuff, there are a few books that I am going to stash in a box, maybe some odd stuff that will be left in a bin in the garage, but for the most part I am getting rid of everything.
You have no idea how freeing this is!
Although there is a certain irony to the fact that I am promoting the selling of everything I own and the freedom that it provides by foisting my stuff on to other people, but, alas, that is the way the world looks.
Oh, and if you got this far, look at the rest of the blog, there are north of 100 posts, everything from non-sense, to geology papers, to weird writings that came to me in a moment of excessive energy and somehow ended up here. Check it out!
