I finished packing up all of my stuff this morning, even stashed a few things in the back of the turtle so that they can get home. The only things that I have to depend on the rest of the field camp people to get into the trailer for the trip back to Duluth are two bins, sleeping bag, tent, sleeping pad, and my 24 year old Schwinn Bicycle.
I am leaving the key for the bike lock with one of the guys and giving them permission to use the bike while I am gone. The only thing is they have to promise not to let it get stolen again. It took me twenty years to get it back last time.
I stashed a few things in the back of the turtle that are small, light, and soft. Most nefariously is a bag containing some dirty laundry, so the back of the turtle may end up smelling like socks. But the turtle is not the most hygienic of vehicles anyway, so I don’t see it as much of an issue.
I know I promised a deuce and a half rainbow, and I will get that uploaded later, but for now I have to get this machine charged up. I will likely also read for a bit. Seems to be the thing to do when you have lots of time, and little responsibility.
In the meantime, here is a picture overlooking Salt Lake City… How sterile…
