New camera, old lenses…

I have been goofing around with my Canon 60d for a while now.  I have enjoyed it greatly, however, there is one problem.

New canon lenses are really expensive!

The lenses that they have which are affordable kind of suck.

The natural solution for this is that I could get an adapter and start using old lenses which brings up all kinds of issues.

Not all lenses, even with an adapter will focus to infinity.

There are about 4 gazillion different mount styles for lenses.

Thankfully I got a FD to EF adapter that will allow infinity focus and it works great!

Now I am starting to buy up lenses in the FD format, and I am getting a decent collection.

As a side note, the M42 screw mount lenses are pretty good too.

But so far I have a few FD lenses…

Quantaray 28mm f2.8
Great walk around lens, simple, easy to use, and great pictures.  The focus is easy to use and slick!

Tokina 28-70mm f2.8-4.3
Good lens, although I have not spent as much time with this one as I have been having too much fun with the 28mm.

Sigma 75-210 f3.5-4.5
This is an awesome zoom lens.  Nice crisp photos and relatively wide aperture for the length of the lens.  Nice crisp focus.

I have a 50mm f1.4 en-route which I feel will be another lens that stays affixed to the camera for a while.

I have been too busy to post large amounts of photos to he blog lately, but that is changing.  I took 1500 photos this weekend and I am going to start processing through those.  The nature of the blog is that I can have much larger photo albums than what I can have on Facecrack, so the blog gets it!
