The GFS is doing it again!

OK, after getting pretty damn close on predicting Alberto’s development the GFS is showing another storm in the really long term forecast, actually two of them, one in the Pacific and another in the Gulf of Mexico.

Right now the models are showing a tropical storm landing near New Orleans on June 14th, and a cat 1 Hurricane churning out in the Pacific near Mexico (staying away from land) starting as a Tropical Storm on the 9th and peaking as a hurricane on the 11th of June.  Once again, these are the models for a week and a half to two weeks from now so there are many, many things that can change between now and then, but it is curious how well the models seems to be showing the development of these storms.  I will have to keep watching the models to see how it changes as time goes by.
