Summer and Fall Adventures

This year was full of adventures including a train trip to Seattle followed by three nights in Ocean Shores Washington and a number of day trips including to the Apostle Islands National Lake Shore, Grand Marais, and Bayfield. We also had a two night trip to the Porcupine Mountains which we hit in peak leaf change. Hopefully I will get around to documenting some of these trips on here. Right now the adventure is home buying! For the first time in my life I am not terrified of the idea of settling down. The job is mostly good (lots of fun science, some of it hands on, but some long stretches of writing and desk work which I struggle with). The relationship is great. The city is beautiful though it is cold. I still struggle with squirrels. The only thing I wish is that I left the house more and actually saw my friends sometimes. There have been long gaps this summer where getting out of bed was the achievement and the idea of actually going out to see anyone was impossible. My new house has a guest bedroom so I can actually have out of town visitors! Plus I can invite in town friends over because there will actually be enough space all my own and a big deck with a view of the Bay.
